How CJ's Fund Helps
Anthony, Melissa, Stella and Tessa
Our youngest daughter Tessa is 2.5 years old, and six months ago she was diagnosed with Rhett Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that strikes mainly girls. After 6-18 months of “normal” development, it leads to regression of speech and motor skills and loss of purposeful hand use. We are hopeful our Tessa will walk someday, but it is fairly certain she will never speak. The grant from CJ’s Fund will go towards an augmentative communication device so that we can work on other ways for her to let us know what she wants and needs. She loves using it to activate various toys, and to request “more” (usually more iPad)! We are so very grateful.
